Being a 24 hour facility and having cage-free sleepovers, we need a lot of staff!  We generally have about 20 staff working for us at any given time, most of whom are full time.  Pictured here are our senior staff members.

 

Starting at the beginning, when you walk in the door you meet the reception team:

Shandra Fletcher works at Urban Tails as our Guest Services Supervisor.  She  comes to us with 10 years supervision experience. Shandra took to her position here like a dog to water.  We are very happy to have her on our staff.  She is pictured here with Jill.

Now for the staff that the dogs know best, those puppy huggers behind the glass door:

 

Nancy Parsley joined Urban Tails in 2002 and has worked her way up to Hospitality Supervisor.  She is quite passionate about animals and still finds it hard to believe that we pay her to work in a doggie daycare with all the wonderful dogs and cats!  She has extensive knowledge of all of our dogs and is responsible for our pets during the week.  Nancy is an Pet Care Services Association Advanced Certified Pet Care Technician and is also certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.  She has additionally taken Pet Tech classes in dental and senior pet care.  Nancy shares her home with 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Nancy is pictured here with Lucy.


Dawn Carlin joined Urban Tails as weekend Hospitality Supervisor in 2011.  Dawn brings over 5 years of kennel technician and management experience from Virginia.  She shares our passion of high quality pet care and customer service and we are thrilled to have her on our team.  Dawn shares her home with beagles Luck (aka Ducky), Fiona and Zora (aka Beans).

Marina Trehern joined us in 2002 as our primary Pet Stylist and is now also our Spa Supervisor.  She graduated as a Professional Groomer from Job Pops Grooming School in April 2000 and is quite the artist!  Her gentle & loving touch has brought her many loyal and happy clients, including an ever increasing parade of older dogs and puppies who need that little bit of extra loving.  Marina is responsible for all of our animal bathing and grooming services and is assisted by our team of bathers.  She shares her home with two pooches: Princess, a Shetland Sheepdogs and Bert, a Miniature Schnauzer.  There are several other critters with fur and feathers that also share her home.  Marina is pictured here with Bert.

 
Hector Ramirez has many years’ experience bathing dogs & cats.  He joined us in 2002 as a Bather and Animal Technician and has worked his way up to being our Spa Coordinator and Head Bather.  He is also an Pet Care Services Certified Pet Care Technician.  Hector is pictured here with Rhys.





Zee White joined us in 2007 as an Animal Technician.  Her hard work has earned her a position as our Hospitality Coordinator.  In this role she keeps things running smoothly for our daycare and lodging pets.  Zee also makes sure our facility stays clean and well-stocked with supplies. Her knowledge of the dogs is invaluable and she ensures our days get off to a smooth start.






Teri Mercatante is our new Training Manager.  She has many years of experience in dog training and behavior. She brings a lot to the table and we are extremely lucky to have her in charge of our very successful training department.  She has 3 Italian Greyhounds who keep her very busy.
