Training programs developed by Urban Tails for our staff as well as other pet professionals in the industry have proven well received and very effective. These programs cover dog body language from nose to tail as well as group dog behavior. Because these programs have been so effective with pet professionals, we decided they should be opened up to pet owners as well. The information is invaluable to accurately interpret what your dog is feeling and saying to you, whether one on one with you or in a group of dogs such as at a dog park. By understanding everything from ear flicks to blinking, you will know when dogs are fine in any given situation and when you may need to be concerned and intervene.
Safety Tails is a 2 session course presented by the owners of Urban Tails, Susan Briggs & Crista Meyer.
Susan is the co-author of Off-Leash Dog Play: A Complete Guide to Safety & Fun, the "go to" manual that many in the pet industry use to train their staff. Crista is the head trainer at Urban Tails and has tested hundreds of dogs for good social skills for admittance to their daycare program.

The first session is a classroom setting without your dog where you will learn the secrets of dog body language, communication and play behaviors. In the second session you will bring your social dog for a group play session supervised by Crista and Susan. During this hands-on session you will practice skills learned in the first session and how to safely supervise your dog at play.
