Laughter & Peace of Mind 24/7
with Urban Tails' Live Webcams
With Urban Tails live webcams you can watch your puppy in daycare or on a sleepover from the comfort of your home, office or while wandering the globe! You are also able to watch the pups while swimming loft dogs being exercised, play times and temperament tests in our Loft Gym.
Since our first year of operation Urban Tails has provided webcam viewing to our doggy daycare clients. Our system has expanded to include all three daycare playrooms and our loft gym. Our most recent addition is our Rover Cam, a special option available free to daycare dogs by reservation. The Rover Cam is a small wireless camera that is attached to a harness the dog wears. The camera is positioned on the dog’s chest, right between the front legs, to give webcam viewers the entertaining perspective of the dog.
While we knew these cameras would be very cool, we never dreamed the impact they would have with our customers. Not only can our puppy parents watch, relatives and friends across the country or around the globe can check in to see your new puppy or adult addition to the family. Parents and their friends watch to see who their dog's playmates are and check out the new kids on the play floor.
Following are some tips on viewing the cameras:
Daycare Viewing
Keep in mind that our daycare dogs take a lunch siesta so there will be very little activity between 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The "Small Tails" camera will view our less intense and typically smaller dog playgroup. "Happy Tails" is our medium level playgroup and generally has younger dogs with a little higher activity level than our mellower pups prefer. "Body Slammers" are for our high activity level and generally larger dogs. Some dogs can play well in more than one group and will change locations based on our overall group of dogs on any given day. We adjust the groups for safe, fun play and ease of management for our staff.
In the event you don’t see your dog on the camera it could be that they are on a rest cycle or actually taking a break directly under the camera. We provide extra rest for all puppies, dogs with long board stays, sensitive pads or other physical ailments and behavior time-outs for dogs that can get a little over stimulated. Loft boarding dogs that get an hour of playtime will generally be in the group around 10:30 a.m. and half-day group play will start around 1:30 p.m.
Rover Cam
Our Rover Cam days vary with viewing times of 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 pm. Keep in mind that the Rover Cam is the view from the dog so it may be blurry or dizzying as the dog is moving or a dark floor or wall if they decide to lay down and rest.
Loft Exercise & Activity Viewing
Our loft dogs are up very early for their first exercise break of the morning and generally complete their exercise sessions by 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Loft pups that get extra playtimes and activities are generally in the gym starting around 10:00 a.m. The lunch break exercise sessions will start around 11:30 a.m. with extra afternoon activities getting started about 2:00 p.m. The final exercise session of the evening begins at 6:00 p.m.
